At Uplifting Justice Institute, we work tirelessly to transform juvenile justice through restorative practices and empower the youth of our community.

Who We Are

UJI is a faith-rooted, Black-led nonprofit reimagining how Colorado Springs approaches juvenile justice. Through restorative justice conferencing, trauma-informed support, and youth empowerment programs, we help youth repair harm, restore relationships, and reclaim their futures.

Restorative Justice Diversion (RJD)

Serving youth aged 10–17 with first-time or misdemeanor charges. Utilizes restorative conferencing, restitution, and community agreements.

HEAT, H4Y, and HER Youth Programs

Gender-responsive and culturally affirming groups offering mentorship, trauma-informed therapy, and peer support.

Programs that equip youth with employment skills, entrepreneurial training, and civic leadership tools.
